When you look at admixture runs you can see clearly the Yugoslavians have some extra West Asian admixture than North Slavs and a few factors is responsible

Is said extra West Asian admixture mirrored by other Southern European population groups in comparison to other Northern European population groups?

If so, then geography alone is sufficient to explain the difference, and there is no need for amorous Turks.

To your point, not being defended by geographical borders (Carpathian Mountians) has also something to do with Ottoman exposure
