How fond are you of the Saharan Pump Theory on a scale from blue to wheat?

It is not a bad theory. I'm thinking of a more thought out response to this, but we will see if nothing comes of it.

Like said, this could work.

But migration during Ice Age could also work. Cooler conditions helps migration because it helps to preserve food longer time.

Also, what comes to human migration, spread of African flora and fauna is not a benefit. Since in Africa hominids and other mammals had evolved side by side (co-evolution), there had developed a mutual respect. When humans spread to other continents, animals there, had no fear of man in them, as man was a creature like no other they had previously met. This obviously is less obvious conclusion in areas with Neanderthal occupation, but if we presume that the hunting methods were as different as we are made to believe, it still holds at least half of its water.
This also made domestication of animals that much easier, and is the reason why Indian elephant is tamed, but African elephant is not.
