I have never been a fashion-monger and always dress according to the principle of "being no worse than the majority," because clothing should fulfill a strictly utilitarian function without any posing at all.
Coming home, I always gladly put on one of my favorite tracksuits - only in them I feel myself "free" enough.

Americans are idiots and dress like slobs. Technically, sports coats, khakis, a tie and blucher shoes are casual wear but Americans think that is dressing up because they are genetic peasants.

And this is why I prefer a barong tagalog. It's "dressing up" in the Filipino sense but it, thankfully, doesn't involve nooses.. err sorry neckties.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

You can dress good without having to wear a suit.

The late HRH Prince Claus of the Netherlands sums up my exact feelings about the Croat's worst crime against humanity - the invention of the cravat - the necktie at 0:19:

Wake up and smell the coffee.

One of my father’s comrades (a military man from Bangladesh) rented an apartment from us in the 90s and gifted several similar shirts, one of them is now mine, almost new.

It's probably a different item but it's much more comfortable than anything we in the West seem to consider "formal wear" as it doesn't make you sweat and feel uncomfortable our wear does.
