Australia yes, not NZ though. Even today Maoris are nearly a tenth of the population there.

Maybe Australians would have lower skin cancer rates.
Iberians are able to tan better than pasty British descendants under harsh sun exposure.

Tell that to me. I have some freckles and I cannot stand much sun exposure. I would turn into a lobster.

My full Spanish mom also has some freckles, and few years ago she had some abnormal moles removed, who happened to be precancerous.

Likewise, Iberians are the most resistant to skin cancer of Europe, Iberia is the country with the most hours of sun, however the countries with the most skin cancer in Europe are the Scandinavian countries, we imagine if the United Kingdom had so much sun.

Small price to pay for having a continent to yourself.....thankfully Australians created sunscreen to deal with that problem.

Probably if any other Empire had settled Australia they'd have brought large amounts of Asian or African labour to establish the colony, and the country would look like every other non-British former colony.

So perhaps it will be Portugual II in some way. I doubt it will be as prosperous, rich and multicultural as the current Anglo-Celtic Australia. I don't see it being as crime-ridden and as 'poor' as Brazil with favelas and all that -- I do believe Jared Taylor is right that so much diversity can create poverty and violence. Brazil has many folks with SSA and Amerindian ancestry, which explains why some areas are poor and unsafe.

Ethnic make up would be like 70% Portuguese, 10% Italian, 8% Various Europeans, 5% southeast Asian, 4% Indian, 2% Aboriginals, 1% others....(or something)

P.S. I am aware that Brazil has rich areas as well and most people there are not poor or anything. I was just pointing out its troubled fraction.
Argentina was once the 6th richest country in the world and until 1980 had 75% of the percapta income of the USA, nowadays this "socialist" policy is meaningless and similar to Venezuela.

White/Amerindian regions of northern Brazil have a low crime rate. Crime is highest in the tri-racial region of the northeast and the white mulatto region of the southeast, especially in cities above 1 million inhabitants.

I think you forgot about the Southeast of the USA, Jamaica, Guyana and other English ones. His country was a settlement colony (relief of population surplus in the UK).

If this region were used for sugar, cotton production or gold/silver extraction they would certainly have imported African-SSA, Asian and Hindu labor.

The Portuguese in Brazil built more than 300 forts on the coast of Brazil:

Brazil was divided into 641 municipalities , which, in turn, were subdivided into 1,473 parishes, the minimum formation units (1° census 1872, independence of the country was in 1822).

Brazil had the second largest navy in the world after independence:

In that case New Zealand would be at least like Chile or Paraguay: a country full with lots of Euro mestizos plus a significant white/near white minority (like 20-30% of its population) of mostly Portuguese stock (Spanish if it was colonized by Spaniards) and maybe some minor non-Iberian European contributions, but changing the Amerindian with Maori.

Latinos - the most effective in colonizing other peoples (they will not have the same performance as native Europeans, but they have improved):
