Default The Rise of Open-Source Software

CNBC Explores released a 14-minute documentary this month called "The Rise Of Open-Source Software." It's already racked up 568,853 views on YouTube, arguing that open-source software "has essentially taken over the world. Companies in every industry, from Walmart to Exxon Mobile to Verizon, have open-sourced their projects. Microsoft has completely changed its point of view, and is now seen as a leader in the space. And in 2016 the U.S. government even promised to open-source at least 20% of all its new custom-developed code."

Remember JamesBond007, everything from Seattle (Microsoft and Starbucks) is second rate. Only the Silicon Valley, 23andMe, and the UC system gets it.

Would you agree that the only problem here is that his rugs lack the wear and tear of old money?

LOL, I started using Linux in 1997 by installing Redhat Hurricane 5.0 and quickly progressed to more tecnnical distribution releases such as Debian Slink. That was back in the day when Linux was still exclusively for Geeks and compiling your own kernel was par for the course. Nowadays, Linux has sold out and sucks balls as a result.

BSD Unix comes from the University of California Berkeley and MacOSX uses the code of FreeBSD in it's Open Source core called Darwin along with a non-BSD Mach kernel. I am going to get a MacOSX laptop next. I will only use OSX and OpenBSD (OpenBSD is based on code from the University of California Berkeley.

Right now I am a computer system administrator but I am going to switch over to computer security and forensics.

These videos by mockingbird TV networks always have ~500,000 views because JewTube inflates their view count by a factor of circa 100.

The last time you said that you make 100,000 USD per year in computer security or something, and before that you said that you write Android applications.

I used to work in a very narrow sector of security i.e. installing OpenBSD firewalls for banks. I want to be more encompassing in the security field. I gave up on Android applications because Google wants to move away from Java to Kotlin. Also, working as a sysadmin was a an easy transition and temporary job for me because before the easy days of Linux you had to be your own sysadmin to effectively run *nix. So, I am going back to security now.

There is only 7,000 people who truly understand OpenBSD. Some dude made a livecd to make you anoymous, like TAILs, based OpenBSD called Anonym.OS and was snatched up by a security tech corporation real fast.
