I would not be surprised if there is blowback (what the intelligence community called a intended disaster) for the US in Iraq. After all, the Iranians were losing influence in Iraq from the ground up (the Iraqis, even the Shi'a got sick of IRCG interference in their politics) due the protests occurring in both Lebanon and Iraq. Now this incident will embolden the Iranians to increase their Influence in Iraq.

I'm not sure if any of you guys are aware of this, but there has been an ongoing military campaign in Iraq since around 2003. Lately Iran has had a hand in this and attacked US troops, so the US retaliated.

It will go on as always.

If America goes to war in the Middle East, they should ask the Saudi's and, particularly, the Israeli's to contribute troops of their own. In fact, the troops normally supplied by Europe should be supplied on a 1 to 1 basis by both Saudi Arabia and - particularly- Israel. And they ought to be placed under U.S command. And they ought to be placed at the spearheads of any attack - where most casualties are to be expected. Let us remember that not a single Israeli has fought and died in Iraq or Afghanistan alongside the Americans during the 2000s and 2010s but those wars served their interests. Let us not forget that the majority of casualties among American troops in both conflicts (that served Israel) were also non-Jewish. So this time around, it should be them, that lead the bayonet charge (in fact: I would start drafting them, if I had my way). Let's see how enthusiastic both countries will be when these measures will be taken.
