Kota deaths: 963 infants succumbed to death at a single hospital in 2019 — and that’s the lowest in 6 years.

The primary reason was the inability of the hospital to provide facilities to cater to mother and child intensive care during pregnancy and after childbirth. eastern china is touching euro level standards after 4 decades of double digit growth . India is too fractured along many lines cast/ignorant supercitious mases/ethnic diversity and so on , for fast growth you need efficient beaurcracy and bit of authoritaive rule.
India's democracy is good for scroing brownie points in front of westerners but it results is slow decision making on the other hand. Modi tried to balanced this democracy+ authorative rule but he is going way toward extremist religious hindudtva.
