It is not so much a matter being pro-Persian or not. Rather whether we would support the Persian regime or the USA. The Greeks side with USA, but have no beef with the Persians as a people. We may even like them. We prefer that the situation will not escalate and that more innocent people will die in the Middle East. As such, Trumps actions are undesired. We should also not forget that there are 3 million Greeks in the USA. In any case, even though Greeks have suffered as second rate citizens under an Islamic empire, Greeks usually feel sympathy for many people in the Middle East. Egyptians, Lebanese. Lybians, Persians, Syrians are usually respected. And this feeling is mutual. As long as they are not aggressive towards us, like Turkey, Greeks have no problem with them whatsover.

My position is that war is not a sport where we pick sides. The act of picking a side is a retroactive endorsing of the war in itself and a type of false masturbatory participation.

Whatever happens, the goal of a nation such as the Greek one is not to become an object or appendage to another ("Greesh ash part of Nato must shupport de US hue hue") but stand for ourselves on our own ground and strive for what is beneficial to us and our country.

A position which of course has been eroded by the same forces which are now pushing for this war.
