Orthodoxes who migrated to the Military Frontier had Serbian national coinscience and they were Slavic-paleo Balkanic mix with minor other elements long time ago since middle age. There was no Serbs and Vlachs who came to Military Frontier as separate people with separate languages and later Vlachs lost their language and became Serbs as you imagine. To be plastic, E-V13 or J2 Orthodox persons who came to the Military Frontier in 16th or 17th century were all Serbian speakers who belong to Serbian Orthodox Church and autosomaly they were same as I2a and R1a Orthodox settlers in Military Frontier from that period.

Milan Karanović divided Serbian families from Pounje on natives (might be settlers from Donji Kraji or eventually central Bosnia) and settlers from southeast (eastern/old Herzegovina). When we took y dna (a lot of Serbs from Bosanska Krajina including Pounje are tested) among those who are marked as natives by Karanović there is significant more I2a and R1a (they are 70% I2a+R1a, and almost without E1b only 2-3%), and those who are marked as settlers from SE have significant less I2a and R1a and more paleo-Balkanic y dna.

Nothing Croatian in Mačva. Srem possibly has some influence due to fact there is Croatian minority.
Mačva as everything southern of Sava river is considered "Balkan" and different to Srem and Vojvodina in general as it wasn't influenced by Habsburg Monarchy.

What Croatian minority in Srem? They are less then 3% in Srem.
Neither I see any Habsburg influence here in people, mentality etc.
