That's why I use Startpage (and, at times, Qwant): those specifically indicate that they don't don't.

Because Yandex doesn't store your personal data unlike Google who logs and sends every single action of yours to the CIA.

Actually - we have several. I use Startpage.com which is Dutch. Then you have Vinden.nl (also Dutch). The Germans have their new one: Ecosia and they have T-Online and Conduit. the French have their Orange and their Qwant, the Brits have Ask.com. It's just that Google is much bigger here.

Exactly. And then we used to have social network sites before Facebook came along and wrecked them. Lycos was one of them. And Hyves.nl (RIP)





Hyves was Dutch through and through. And it killed off by Facebook. It's now some meaningless gaming site that few care about. The profiles were fully customisable with music, colour and lay-out. It offered you the opportunity to create your own pages that could serve as a group's hangouts etc.

First of all I like their services. Yandex in addition to Russia has distribution in other post-Soviet countries. Аs for the service it even goes beyond the post-Soviet countries. Yandex taxi service is available in Israel, Serbia, Finland, Romania, for example.

Aye. But they are a first step. I have considered using a VPN but I think their plans are a bit too expensive.

I use duckduckgo, yandex and startpage.
Seriously though google needs to be broken apart. Its the one thing progressives are right on.
