Why Is Google Struggling In Russia? Yandex

Well maybe, just maybe it's connected to the fact that Yandex is a biggest provider of taxi services and distributes it's services all over Russia unlike most other companies, which are usually local?

Another thnig is that after Yandex conquered the market there is basicly no chance to compete in low-price segment so all other companies redirected to more premium-level services?

I've counted only cases of local Yandex taxi vs other local companies wich could be as bad but much smaller, I don't know.

It's true that there's a shit ton of Yandex taxis in Krasnodar but Yandex taxi in a road crash is like a local meme already and I don't remember such a strong association of other leaders in taxi business with crashes when Yandex wasn't present there. Maybe the didn't press their drivers to haste as much back then.

A blog post from last month also said that Yandex has the best reverse image search:

In the US, that would mean Yandex would be "canceled" and its stock would fall 50%. But Yandex operates on the other side of the PC Iron Curtain.

Actually - we have several. I use Startpage.com which is Dutch. Then you have Vinden.nl (also Dutch). The Germans have their new one: Ecosia and they have T-Online and Conduit. the French have their Orange and their Qwant, the Brits have Ask.com. It's just that Google is much bigger here.

I use http://www.duckduckgo.com when I can but sometimes it search engine algorithms are just flat out inferior to Google.
