    Default Julius Evola

Giulio Cesare Andrea Evola ( 19 May 1898 – 11 June 1974), better known as Julius Evola, was an Italian philosopher, painter, poet, esotericist, and occultist. He has been described as a radical traditionalist, antiegalitarian, antiliberal, fascist and antidemocratic. Evola was never a member of the fascist party and often criticized fascism, even Mussolini himself. He was an eclectic mystic in the traditions of Tantra, hermeticism, and ritual magic, demonstrating a lifelong interest in the occult and Eastern religion. Evola believed that we were now living in the Kali Yuga, a dark age of materialism and spiritual degeneracy. As usual, his prescription involved a "spiritual rebirth" through submission to unreasoning tradition. The Italian philosopher of history Giambattista Vico provided Evola with the concepts of primordial heroic law, "natural heroic rights" and the meaning of the Indo-European Latin term vir as indicative of "wisdom, priesthood and kingship." Matriarchy and women's rights were evidence of regression, while patriarchy is a progressive force. His most famous book is Revolt against the modern world.
His works are not easy to read, but I recommend it, although I don´t agree with all of his thoughts.

He's worth a read, but be mindful of the fact that his "methodology" for lack of a better word, is founded upon outdated ideas from the 19th century. Read him, no doubt, but take it with a grain of salt. Also, he uses the term "Kali Yuga" erroneously. Kaali (with a long a and i) refers to the Goddess Kali. The kali in Kali Yuga is with a short a (pronounced kuh-lee) and means "quarrel, strife" therefore 'Kali Yuga' in Hindu cosmology means "Age of Quarrel" and has nothing to do with the Goddess.
