It teaches them the value of a product and the value of beauty. Something totally lacking from today's society. The first two are early Hershey's wrappers as they would have looked in the late 19th and early 20th century:

    Spoiler!

So from where the understated ugliness ?
Not about ugliness or aesthetics, its about being practical, easy and appealing for nowadays kids and society that, I agree with you lacks of values unlike the past.

Tbh even i don't care much about products packages (sometimes I do though). Better looking for content quality.

That's only because modern kids were raised in a world of ugliness. In Dutch there used to be a word for educating the people into a higher standard. Volksverheffing (volk- the people - verheffing - to elevate or raise - through education and by example). The West, in general, is going to need some real volksverheffing, paternalistic or not, because the last generations have been subjected to a real bombardment of moral decay.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

These are other nice luxurious packages. Most of these cool looking packages are from more national brands who are less know internationally.

The english hasn´t been capable of producing a mere eatable food (I´m not even talking about its flavour and nutritional qualities) in centuries.

    That really sicks.

In Spain we have Nocilla, in one or two colours:

A bit off-topic, but also in Spain exists an alternative to nesquick (which is basically sugar), called Cola-Cao (has more cocoa, but if the milk is not at leas mild, it has problems to dissolve into)

Hahaha this is kinda funny because I'm reading this post while drinking hot milk with Nesquik (my spuntino di notte).

WW2 also gave us Fanta, thanks Hitler.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.
