Default Nutella: The Miracle of WW2

Everyone knows Nutella and almost everyone loves it. The delicious spread has gained a cult-following in America and across the world, but few people know how Nutella really came about. The major import shortages caused by WW2 left many Italian chocolatiers with no product. To stretch their limited supplies they added chopped hazelnuts to their mix. What started out as a gimmicky chocolate replacement eventually evolved into the Nutella we know today!

Wake up and smell the coffee.

The East Germans were forced into a similar solution, named Nudossi (and using even more hazelnuts), that proved to be so popular that it was specifically brought back some years after the Wall came down. It is still around today (in Germany, anyway):

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Nutella is very tacky, cheap, and nasty junk. It's absolutely loaded with sugar and far too sickly. The ingredients aren't organic, and it tastes nothing like how good quality and authentic chocolate should taste. Even a small amount of it is enough to make one feel sick. It contains far too much sugar and has no authentic flavour. Even the thought of it makes me feel sick.

Oh cmon... If you don't like it is your problem but saying that tastes bad and a just small amount is enough to make people feel sick is... exaggerated.

It wouldn't be so popular otherwise.

If tastes bad is because it is made with Turkish hazelnuts...

Certainly not... I've tasted far superior chocolates (mass produced here) made from organic ingredients. Even a small amount of Nutella makes me feel sick. It lacks authentic flavour and is extremely sickly as its main ingredient is sugar. Far too much sugar.

It's cheap and nasty junk.... death food... diabetes and cancer in a jar.

Obviously, if you abuse it is not healthy, same for every other confectionery products. Nutella is certainly not indicated for daily mass consumption... just for breakfast or for a small snack around 4:00 pm.

Can you name me some healthy products you have in England?

Even a small teaspoon of nutella tastes gross and far too sugary and sickly... and like fake/cheap chocolate. I bought a jar once and had to throw it away as I hate the sickly and tacky taste of it. It doesn't taste anything near the quality of real chocolate. I'm astonished how anyone could eat that stuff.

Real chocolate shouldn't be too sugary and should have a much nicer flavour and texture too.

In terms of healthy foods in England... organic vegetables, fresh fish, seafoods, pulses, rices, smoothies, herbal teas with organic honey.

A very popular smoothie that's commonly sold in loads of UK supermarkets and stores here are 'Innocent' smoothie drinks - which comes in ethically sourced and fun packaging.... and contains no added sugars, preservatives, colourings, etc... nothing but pure fruits.

(Although people have to be careful with fruits which are naturally high in fructose sugars.)

Innocent Drinks also gives at least 10% of all its profits to charity every year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innocent_Drinks They're like the UK's iconic Body Shops which uses natural ingredients and encourages Fair Trade and sustainability with poorer nations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Body_Shop

In terms of English sweets and confectionary... we're lucky enough to have Hotel Chocolat which has specialist events and schools to teach people on the art of fine chocolate making using cocoa from its own plantations.

Hotel Chocolat's products are sold in large train stations and plenty of other places here. They give you a membership and loyalty card when you purchase their delicious chocolates with rewards for the purchases: https://www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/red...alty-card.html

Another very popular UK mass-produced brand of sweet that's commonly sold here are the UK's Green & Blacks organic and ethically sourced chocolate bars. Obviously dark chocolate is far healthier and contains more antioxdiants than milk, white, or ruby chocolates.... but they have a range of interesting flavours, in addition to various sizes and organic drinking chocolates and ice creams in their range too. They're found in most supermarkets and cornershops here.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=GREE...gq1bIq9hDtg4M:

Some of London's chocolatier specialists use traditional 300 year old recipes, offer free samples to customers, and contain real and fresh fruit pieces.

The honey sold in this very historic and quintessential English store in London (popular with the Royal Family too) produces their own honey from the beehives on top of the famous F&M store.

I actually think they should expand their product line: into bonbons and chocolate bars and actual gianduja (in bar form or candies). Something like Ferrero Rocher but slightly cheaper.
