Greece is consideared western because was part of the capitalist-west bloc during the cold war (same appliesto Czechia)

But they are Eastern because are orthodox, do not speak romance or germanic lenguages, didn't had relation with the West during a long long time (Byzantine Empire + Ottoman domination, they do not have romanic or gothic cathedrals for example) and genetics.

Also because West is more prestigious and greeks want to belong the group.

Correct for the first two, but wrong for the last. Before the crisis we were on equal terms economically with the rest of the West.
