Btw I know Serb from Mrkonjić Grad who has surname Skopljak https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrkonjić_Grad
His surname means inhabitant of Skoplje, not Skoplje capital of N. Macedonia but Uskoplje (Skoplje) in central Bosnia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gornji_Vakuf-Uskoplje
Interesting is connection between Uskoplje/Skoplje in central Bosnia and Skoplje capital of N. Macedonia.

I don't know if they have any relation to each other, but i know the original name of Skopje was Scupi, Which Skopje derives from.

By the way, most of the people back then identified by the local church they belong. So, there were cases when Chetniks/Komite would catch a member of opposing church who was speaking their language and due to the identification by church he/she may have lost his/her life. So you can only imagine how many people died because they said they belong to the wrong church.

Uskoplje or Skoplje in Bosnia was medieval župa. In 16th century local Muslim beys created Gornji Vakuf.

There is also Skopsko polje (field) near Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje.

Sounds like a fraternity group in Alaskan high school, but with less members.

There was three churches the Macedonians were permitted to join: Serbian, Bulgarian and Greek churches. Sometimes there was even family members belonging to different churches. And in some cases even fighting against eachother. By far, the Bulgarian church was the most dominant in Macedonia, which spread pro Bulgarian sentiment.

    Dude, you trolling.

Chetniks/Komites in Macedonia in early 20th century protected Serbian civilians from Ottomans and Bulgarians.

Serbian church was present just in northern parts. Its when Serbia won the 2nd Balkan war when it started to spread south. As for the Greek church, mostly Aromanians were its members. The remaining majority of Slavophone population belonged to the Bulgarian church.
