Yeah, they wanted to capture New Granada to claim it as their own. They also fought along Neogranadian troops against Spaniards during the country's independence battle. Galeon San Jose sunk during one of those battles along the Caribbean seashore.
Also, San Andres has some British heritage.
Anyway I love British music, culture, architecture and I've always been exposed to the language so yeah. You'd be surprised at the amount of Tudor buildings in Bogota. Bogota is filled up with neighbourhoods with a wide array of British styles. It has got its old Spanish quarter, too: La Candelaria.
