The Crusades were of the most beautiful things that happened in the history of Christianity, when the European Christians came in an attempt to save their Eastern Christian brothers from the Muslim invaders.
Most people don't know, but not only did the Crusaders not gain anything, but they had to sell their own lands and posessions to finance their journey East. It's estimated each spent on average would be the equivalence of $100K .
