Yeah you're right, it just... seems depressing. Never heard anything good about the food. Overall, it just seems boring, and I'm more of a "coffee culture" kind of guy.
But don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing negatively to any aspect of the US, and I'm more than willing to be proven wrong... I'm just more of a Mediterranean type of guy...

That's because they are just unknown to you (not to us, though !) And you're talking about a coffee culture ? Coffee culture and Scandinavia. That's like sea and salt water. The Finns are probably the most coffee-obsessed of the lot. Followed by the Swedes and their fyka culture.

Actually - not many Americans would realise this but Continental Europeans have just started to see Finland and Sweden as summer travel destinations.
