I just read that there was a Spanish singer 'Rosalia' categorized as Latina in some MTV awards. From the same article they said that if a US police officer hears you speaking English with a Spanish accent, he'll discriminate regardless of how you view yourself.

Basically Liberals wanting to get everyone on the victim spectrum and on their side.

Keep in mind that a lot of it depends on looks. Spanish singer Pablo Alboran would probably not have the same "problem" despite being within the average Spanish phenotype.

well, it is true that Banderas has played the role of Latino many times, even of Arab... but there are tons of American or British actors who did too. Tyrone Power, Sean Connery, John Rhys Davies, etc etc
