how do you translate in your language the common informal american/british usage of words like "man", "dude", "buddy", "mate" in dubbed or subbed movie adaptations?

In Rio, for "Dude" or "Man" we use "Cara". A lot. I hear a lot of "Irmão" (brother) too.

Cara means 'Face"Never knew what ''cara mia'' means...but also can be used like "Minha cara/meu caro" in some sentences! "Cara mia" must mean "Minha cara..." (my dear, my friend). There's diferent meanings on diferent sentences.
"Esta é uma observação inteligente, minha cara."
- This is a clever observation, my dear.
"Eu machuquei minha cara!"
- I hurt my face!
"Irado, cara!"
- Awesome, dude!

Mann, Alter.
Alter is most common, although with "mein" it means "my old man" = father.
I've seen films where they use Kumpelchen for Buddy.
In East Berlin, it is not unusual to still hear Kamerad used for Mate.
