Are you talking about kids directly from these countries or assimilated children/descendants of eastern euro immigrants? I went to school with mostly WASPs/Irish with various Italians and Eastern Euros sprinkled in (only going by surnames here I don’t know their full background) and wouldn’t have ever been able to tell them apart from the average WASP kids unless I knew their surnames. They acted the same in my experience. We don’t get many first generation immigrants from Europe anymore so I can’t say I’ve interacted with someone straight from the region though.

That's true. I m from Bulgaria and its supposed to be conservative and it is on "certain" topics like refugees (like we have any), lgbt, turks but no one has any problem to cheat to their significant other, watch pornography or go to a prostitute. These days (thanks to Russia hybrid attacks like in Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary etc.) is not surprising to see someone talk about our "ages old orthodox values". Like they have been unchanged for centuries??? For god sakes, we were atheist country 20 years ago. And the moral values from the middle ages are definitely different to todays... And who could really define them? Its a vague and subjective term used to push someone's redneckness as "traditional value".
I think this whole idea of "traditional orthodox/catholic/Islamic values" have been masterminded in trying to distance certain countries from the West and to shift the conversation from real problems like poverty, lack of jobs, dirty air, improving living standard to non sense so that the few rich biches have no pressure to enjoy their money and continue exploiting others (we have a newspaper that proved that each hybrid attack going on in Bulgaria was first tried in Russia and succeeded). It was done in the Islamic world, its been happening in Eastern Europe (more backward states like BG, Ro (with not great success), Hungary, Poland) and it will happen in the West. Trump is the foreshadowing.
So no, the eastern European conservatism is fake. Its based on the principle: I will do what I want, but I will try to stop the others to do that. Something like that.
EU has to step up and really deal with this shit.
