He did in fact say that in his journals, so before more careful before you call something a forgery. That said, don't adress any more than you need to. Khruschev surely was one of the authorities on the issue, but it's still just a one journal with a personal opinion, not a thourough analysis with universal consensus. There were plenty of his military peers who would disagree with him at the time. Reference them next time. But grant the guys in here all their points anyway, it's fine - Russia losing without US contribution doesn't equal Russia not making the major contribution for stopping the Nazi Germany. Western Allies did 90% of the work by their effective airraids on the war production infrastructure.

I wasn't downplaying German Army.

I was just saying that Russian did the most, had the largest front and that U.S. joined 4 years later when Germany was basically dead.
