Origin of East Eurasian/eastern non Africans

I read on Wikipedia that at some point in time the ancestors of East Asian Mongoloids, Andamanese, Australasins, all split from each other as well as my ancestors. What do you we know about how this happened and how does it relate to SE Asians?

I always thought that Caucasoids and Asians had a same ancestry and split at one point.
