You know my stance about Wilders. But I think that in this area - he has rehabilitated himself. Johnson will cause the fall of his cabinet when the dead keep piling up. That I can assure you - and the next generation will very likely seek to rejoin the EU and there will be no old people left to vote against it. Thanks to BoJo. Thanks to Bojo - in five years time, Britain will likely rejoin the EU and will also be increasingly minority white. Exactly the things that you voted against. Why ? Because of the death toll this epidemic will claim under Conservative, pro-Brexit voters. From a political point of view - BoJo is the best Labour Prime Minister they ever had.

That's how stupid the current policies against the coronavirus are, Lily - and it's the same on the Continent or in the United States. Most of who will die are the elderly and most of those vote for right-wing or conservative parties. This will be compounded, of course, with a recession as that will definitely drive people to a place where neither you or I will want to see them: the Left. Because then the only things people will care about - is a roof over their head and something to fill their stomach with. And the Right, sure as hell, to their error, never provides that. And the Left will leap up those votes and give them something to temporarily solve both problems - until the next elections come along. And then they will repeat the process etc. etc.

I guess it slipped your attention and notice that you made a post on this thread a bit earlier actually supporting my Dutch hero and idol. I was shocked - but didn't thumb it up... as this time I'm not so sure if that's the best scientific approach. I've been swayed into Professor Whitty's method.
Boris and Mark Rutte's approach looks kind of nonchalant and lackadaisical on the surface ... but if you listen to the speeches at the press conferences with the experts by BoJo's side, then it makes sense why they're taking this approach.
Yesterday Mr. Wilders posted a photo of a letter statement written in Dutch, stating that he wanted to invite a German professor and an Italian epidemiologist (both against the concept of 'herd immunity' - the strategy that Boris and Rutte are taking in the UK and the NL,) into a debate (via Skype) with the other Dutch parties and the Dutch PM, but his proposal was rejected in the Dutch parliament by various parties. I don't think that was fair for the proposal to be rejected as all sides of a debate should be heard in order to obtain a complete picture.
The irony... you can't stand Mr. Wilders and we often debate a lot about him - and he's my idol... and now you agree with him - on this approach to the pandemic - and I'm not sure. (I still love and greatly respect him though - and always will. )
If I was biased, then I'd be agreeing with Mr. Wilders and Mr. Farage (my two biggest political heroes) - but I don't agree with them as the UK experts have swayed my views in this science debate, but I respect the viewpoints of Wilders/Farage.
I can think objectively and critically. I posted a question on social media to Boris yesterday as I was confused and perplexed by his evasive answer to a journalist during yesterdays press conference. He was asked why adults have been advised by him to avoid socialising with others - but he's allowing children to socialise in schools. His answer was evasive and not very reassuring... but he said he'd be looking into that. I find that quite bizarre.

Exactly. And this is what now becomes inevitable. Thanks to the stupidity of the Right. It seems to be a recurring theme: they think they sorted stuff out and then they fuck it up, the Left comes back in, fucks things up and the bloody game can start again. Only this time around... I doubt there will be another chance for the Right (as based purely on the demographical situation).

I think that, given what we now know about this virus, having it burn through the population is a bad idea and we will pay the price for it. In fact - they may well have been the native European's last chance to get things back in order. And guess what: those that were elected to sort things out, effed it up two steps before the finish line. There will be no coming back from this.
