    they are connecting a haplogroup which peaks in Ireland, and is rare in the Balkans with Bessi?
    i think they were dominantly some subclade of E-V13, whether they are related to Albanians or not.

    I think they were R1b, and have no special relationship with Albanians. Actually perhaps if we are able to find correct models we can test it. How would you model modern Balkan people with IA samples?

    The only reason people try to draw that connection is due to the practice of Besa custom in Albanian culture. I don't think the word has any actual cognates with Bessi though. I could be wrong.

    bgr_ia + av2_hungary is the core for all Balkan models.
