I heard the new president of Guatemala is allowing El Salvador to build a port in Guatemala's Atlantic coast, to boost commerce and tourism. If it benefits both countries overall, then perhaps it is a good move. But I have a feeling it's just corruption at play, like always in Guatemala. The Guatemalan elites tend to sell a way territories to foreign powers. Like farming lands to the American agricultural industry, mining rights to Canadian corporations, or water rights to hydroelectric Spanish companies. It's likely just another series of Guatemala's elites selling out. So to answer your question, I lean towards not. Also, Guatemala's Atlantic coast is kind of small. So giving any of it away seems unwise. Honduras should've been the one to do so.
