A textbook published in Cetinje in 1914 during the Kingdom of Montenegro "Knowledge of the Law", printed in KR. CR. state printing house, compiled by Živko Dragović and Ljub. A. Bakić, in the fourth paragraph, entitled "People", describes and explains the terms people and nationality, emphasizing that Montenegrins are Serbs by nationality, and that the Montenegrin nationality does not exist.

"The total number of the population of a state, which is bound by the unity of state power, is a people in the political sense, regardless of whether that people is of one tribal origin or not. Thus e.g. it was called "the American people" and by that name should be understood all together citizens of the Federal States, even if they are very leisurely by nationality. The same is true for the French, German, Russian, etc. people. ", The authors of this textbook believe.

"The term 'people', in the political sense, does not coincide with the term 'nationality', because the first term is much broader than the second." as described on page 104.

"That is, the people of our homeland, we could not use the name" Montenegrin people "in the sense of nationality, since Montenegrins are Serbs by nationality, and there is no Montenegrin nationality. In addition, there are citizens of other nationalities than Montenegrin on the Montenegrin state territory, but they do not mind that they, from a political point of view, belong to the Montenegrin people. " The authors pointed out and added that the territory of Montenegro at that time was the land that covered its political borders, and that on that land where the Serbian people lived exclusively or mostly, those countries were collectively called Serbian Lands.

Yes, my friend, my descendants declared themselves as Serbs in Cetinje. They did not surrender to the new national identity, so that will stay with my family.
