Typical for the self-hating Germans not to spend a penny on its own defence force. They might just as well scrap the whole thing now that they're at it. As for the Poles ? Good show. It's not a bad little crate. With a bit of luck, the F35 will become what the F16 and F104G were before it: a multi-tool used by much of NATO.

The Germans first had a lot of problems with the F104G but they later on learned to fly and love it and basically the whole of Western Europe (except for the French) flew it:

Then came this babe and the Germans, Brits and French dropped out:

Make no mistake - I love the Eurofighter Typhoon but I think the concept came too early. Both sides of the Atlantic could have saved themselves a lot of money during the 1970s to 1990s by pooling resources.

There's no current fighter able to compete with the sophisticated avionics suite of F-35. Not even F-22 - that's a 20 year old aircraft. Yes, some older 4th gen fighters might have slightly better airframes for low speed air combat, but that's irrelevant today.

Now of course, not the whole avionics suite of F-35 will be exported. It will be hard to assess what every foreign user of F-35 has actually got compared to the standard planes issued to US services.

Let's be frank about it: what worked so well during the 1950s to early 1980s was, for the most part, complete interoperability. Most countries used the same rifle (FN FAL - except for the Americans and the French), similar helmets (the Dutch, Norwegians, Danes, Belgians, Spanish, Luxembourgers and West Germans all used helmets based on the American M1), similar uniforms (the West German, Dutch, Belgians, Italians, Danes, Norwegians, Luxembourgers and Portuguese all used uniforms which were derived from the American OG-107 uniform) equipment and planes.

    Spot the yanks here:

Guess what: there aren't any. These troops are either Dutch or West German.

How can Poland be okay with 32 F35 fighters and Finland needd at least 64? Is Poland a military midget?

Poland plans to purchase more modern tanks than Germany and France.

Germany and France exclude Poland from military projects.

Die Welt also writes that Poland has found a military partner in South Korea. We are talking about the company Hyundai Rotem, which will offer Poland a model of the K2 tank.

For comparison, Finland has 450 first line tanks and near 400 wheeled armoured personnel carriers.

This old Soviet crap is not counted. Finland has now 60 F/A-18,s, combat tanks are Leopards, half of them latest models. Carriers are Finnish and sold to many countries. The modernization includes also unmanned bombers, cruise missiles etc.
