[QUOTE=Sundqvist;6476695]ok, whatever, this thread is about Poland[/QU

I don't try to boast, but Trump is right, Europeans invest too little in defence. It is not okay that many countries only wait for American help, especially Germany.

Trump is actually wrong: The Americans first depleted Europe's forces in Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan and now Trump wants us to buy American-hardware only. He actually was annoyed as fuck when European countries started to buy European equipment. NATO used to be an alliance - now it's a protection racket.

I do agree with you. Europeans should prefer European products, but at the same time they do too little. American problem is that they criticize Germany about inefficiency, but don't want to see strong Germany either.

Now of course, not the whole avionics suite of F-35 will be exported. It will be hard to assess what every foreign user of F-35 has actually got compared to the standard planes issued to US services.
I'm sorry but you're dead wrong. I know what I was talking about, here inform yourself.

Actually - they do quite a bit. They are far more effective with the money than the Americans are in that they, increasingly, pool their resources (the air defence of the Benelux is carried out by a joint Dutch-Belgian air defence comprising of both Dutch and Belgian units), Germans and Dutch and Germans and French share units and the German marine corps trains on Dutch ships together with the Dutch. No, Trump sees NATO in a very different way. Let's be frank here: he would rather see us completely disarmed and having to pay America extortionate amounts of money for our defence while it is that same America that causes trouble for us abroad (Russia, anyone). In other words: he sees American troops as a kind of Blackwater and NATO as a protection racket to the milked to the full.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

That's a pretty uninformed article overall.

But where exactly am I wrong? I said F-35 has the most advanced avionics suite ever put on a fighter aircraft. How is that wrong? Even F-22 avionics are in process of being upgraded to the standards set now by F-35. For instance AN/APG-77v1 of F-22 will include some of the new modes from AN/APG-81 (the radar on F-35).
