Whenever I glance the lists of players in many European national rugby teams, they are full of South Africans, Kiwis, Aussies and Brits. Even today it still seems that most European countries cannot produce enough homegrown players and therefore rely a lot on English-speaking immigrants instead.

"Grandfather rule" seems like a pretty touching thing. But in fact this leading to showdowns and disqualifications like it was with Spain and Romania before WC 2019 and with Russia earlier. Rugby results must show the level of development of this sport in the country, but not some history/bloodline relations. Thats why i am not very interested in our football team with Fernandez and "russian germans" that grown up outside the Russia, while talanted "afrorussian" like Bryan Idovy, that was born and raised here but he had no chances to join the team and played for Nigeria while he have nothing common with that country except the bloodline.
