Were the 1945 Allied Bombings of Dresden Militarily Justified?

Numerous historians have argued that Dresden was a legitimate military target because it was one of the greatest commercial and transportation centers in Germany. Other historians state that the Dresden bombings resulted in needless civilian deaths that were not necessary to advance the Allied cause. This article discusses whether the Dresden bombings were militarily justified.

Targeting civilian facilities is never justified. Carpet bombings should be considered war crime. In case of Dresden bombings were meticulously planned to create self sustaining fire tornados. The very intent was to cause as many non-military casualties as possible. Allied command knew the city was full of refugees and exterminated them intentionally. That's genocide.

2. Continued buoys on the ground
3. The urgent need to end the Second World War is over.
