Hard to think my paternal family came from kings when my grandpa's family was so poor they couldn't even purchase shoes or anything. They were farmers... but hey, you never know!

Most Europeans are if you're able to trace your family tree far back enough. Portugal has some of the best records online and my parents' home town go back to 1602. Most of my family was overwhelmingly from a small region, and not well off especially on my father's side. On my mother's side though, her great granduncle was a viscount, and my 6th great grandfather was a morgado. Through them I can trace my heritage to royal bastards and mediaeval kings from all over Europe.

Eith the entailment of titles and estates usually only the eldest son inherited the estate. Younger sons would join the military, go to colonies, or join the high clergy as bishops. One of my 8th great-grandmother's brother became a engenho in Brazil and even captain of Pernambuco. Another great-great-etc uncle was a captain whom received the Order of Christ for the reconquest of Mombasa in 1728. Daughters were expected to marry well, and my grandmother's family seems to have lost most of their wealth in the Napoleonic Wars when the Ribatejo was occupied by the French in 1807 and 1808. One set of my great-grandparents in that side were still large landholder, but they divided their holdings amongst the 6 children.

With the help of others in the town we went through every single record of births, deaths and weddings in the village between 1602 and 1911. The town family tree now has some 11,000 people on it, despite only having 2,000 inhabitants. And before you ask, yes it was quite common before trains for people to marry second, third and fourth cousins. That is why I have a few 10th great grandparents where I am descended from every single one of their children. First cousin marriages, howrver were rarer and reserved for the wealthy, as they required dispensation from the papal núncio in Lisbon.

Pues no sé como será por detrás, pero desde luego, por la nariz, es bastante desagradable...

Aprovecho la ocasión, para saludar a toda mi familia, y para deciros, que pese a que ADNtro es una empresa basada en España, no parece que sus resultados, sean ahora mismo, muy fiables...

Supongo que irán actualizando sus bases de datos de poblaciones o lo que sea.

Haplotipos correctos, pero tampoco se han esforzado mucho.



Y lo de neandertal/denisovano, como curiosidad, pero de todo será lo menos fiable.



Aparte de eso, cosas como lo de estornudar con el chocolate amargo, el pelo de la espalda y así, que te dicen todos.

Supongo que como individuo con mezcla Norte y Sur de la península, será difícil atribuirme unos orígenes muy precisos, pero es la primera vez que me dan unos resultados semejantes.Con diferencia, los más distintos de todos.

Lo que comenté, poquito a poco irán mejorando, si es que la empresa, que es bastante nueva, se mantiene en el mercado.

Como me cambia el resultado utilizando escaladas y no escaladas con la misma calculadora, pero el africano resulta más creíble y acorde con el Gedmatch.

Hi guys!! I registered in this forum long time ago but it's my first message.

I published my results in AG about DNANTRO, in my case very weird... (I obtained more british than iberian, it isn't possible)

I received also Ethnogene report two days ago, I must say that these are probably the best results I have ever obtained.
