Of course. You have to take into account a country and its economic structure. There are immigrants who are poor that migrate to the West and become rich. If a system is set up to keep the rich from being knocked down by a competitor you cannot claim all of a persons economic status is exactly because of them.
Otherwise you need to explain how dirt poor Balkanites become wealthy in various disciplines when moving to Western countries. Or any immigrant for that matter. You have universal healthcare. Try going to the ER here in America for one night and getting a 10000 bill. My friend with insurance was in the ER for 2 nights for an inflamed esophagus and ended up with a 20 thousand dollar bill in the mail. He also couldn't afford to pay the amount they required monthy and paid the minimum. As such interest added on a few more thousand in the course of the year.
Or student loans. I know people who have been paying for years but the climbing interest has them owing more now than they started with out of college.
Like I said, if the system is ass backwards, it really doesn't matter how hard you work.
