XFL - The new US football league

What is your opinion on it?

I don't know much about american football but it might be fun to watch.

The last version of the XFL from 2000 was kind of lame and gimmicky. Maybe they've learned some lessons but I have my doubts. Think of the all the failed professional football leagues: USFL, NFL Europe, Arena football, XFL, etc.

They've tried this every 5 or 10 years as long as I've been alive and it just keeps disappearing... I think most people associate sports with their childhood or regional/local affiliation and it's difficult to get into something "new."

From my quick point of view, the problem is the number of player in a team, 40 + training staff. A lot of salary to pay.
And also they should create league with team closer to each other to reduce the travel cost.

They can't compete with the NFL but they might steal some of the market.

I don't see that much difference with the nfl for the moment, but well i watch two US football game in my life...

Both are the same so far but will choose NFL as I watched it all my life.

I hope XFL succeeds. This means more new Football players have a career after college.

I can see XFL being a feeder company to the NFL where good players will go there for more money.

Actually, the more I watch, the more I am starting to like this.

Faster pace than the NFL, which is good.

I just heard about the AAF and it closed down because of bureaucratic nonsense. It's a shame because it gave a lot of passionate players the limelight that just play for the love of the game. Of course, being the US where $ > everything, a good thing couldn't last. Vince McMahon is a billionaire and a ruthless businessman, so this new incarnation of the XFL may survive.
