If Croats also immigrate to the countries of people they in reality dislike, they are indeed Serbs. However, if they do not, that would mean that they are obviously not.
It isn't a bad thing to be Serb. Sometimes you can even wish you were one.

Number of Croatians who migreated to the west in the last 15 years is bigger than number of Serb imigrants in that period. In the last 5-6 years new Mecca foe Croatian imigration is Ireland.
I was going through Slavonia on the way towards the Dalmatia many time, every next time I have seen less and less people and more ruined argiculture fields. Slavonia together with has Vojvodina most fertile land in former Yugoslavia, and always in history some people migrated in Slavonia until 1990s when started to left Slavonia and that process continued to the present day.

Croats have all been very pleasant and lovely people from my first hand knowledge. So I am going to say Croats are their own Slavic tribe and identity far removed from the common stock joining them with Serbs for 1500-2000 years now.
