You should have written:
Wert thou a King/Queen... What animal wouldst thou, as a Ruler, have in thy emblems?
Some might argue, in addition, that "thine" should, or at least could, be used instead of "thy". In the 16th century, it could have been, but would probably be regarded as incorrect today.
