It's probably the most complicated identity in the world. The word Arab itself actually came from "Arabia"; "شبه الجزيرة العربية". It originally meant inhabitants of Arabian peninsula.








Sometimes it gets messy and people misinterpret it as "being tanned with dark features". Some other ethnic groups start getting mistaken for Arabs, for example:
