This canal will be useless. Maintaining it will cost more than the potential benefits.

Because they can't create one solid project so fast. Infrastructure projects usually take much time. After building then maybe there will be time to make the canal deeper and wider, so more propaganda about progress ect(at least I hope so because leaving it as it is seems to be waste of money)
If not then why wouldn't give money to progress another ports beetwen Szczecin and Gdańsk to make them another option. They have more potential than Elbląg at the moment. Today at online lecture I found out that most of products go to Gdańsk port so even if Elbląg port would have easier access by diging a canal, still infrastructure is better in Gdańsk port so most of ships will go to Gdańsk.
At the moment it helps only local small ships

^^ and this is what already happens, but the channel will shorten time, and more of yachts will enter Elbląg, I will buy a property there and earn money on that - tourist service
