When sleep hits me in the afternoon I can't help myself, I rest. But I would rather sleep from midnight to six AM.

Try to skip sleeping in the afternoon. Or, if skipping it altogether is too hard, then try gradually postponing it by a bit. For example, if you usually feel sleepy and go to sleep at 5pm, try to distract yourself for 30minutes and go to sleep at 5.30pm instead. Then the next day, you'll probably feel sleepy a little bit later, and will be able to postpone it a little bit further. Perhaps until 6pm. Keep doing so until you gradually get to midnight. Once you get there, try to maintain a sleeping routine.

She did, and according to her, it doesn't work on her since she's taking medication for her bi-polar disorder that makes her energized or something.

I see, If she's experiencing a manic episode, then it will result in insomnia, & it seems like the meds haven't worked on her, maybe she's on the wrong meds, usually mood stabilizers like Lithium help stabilize the manic depressive moods.
