Now the results make more sense IMO. I'm looking at the census from 1897, and this person's village is located 2km from Ukrainian and Russian settlements. There is also a German one.

She is native Russophone and half Russian genetically, although parents told her that they are only Russian. That's why she gets the elevated West Asian, as the algorithm has trouble with the differentiation between Balkan and West Asian for some mixed folk. Or maybe her Russian side has something exotic. The second example from Romania I assume, since this is what we have talked about in the Bulgarian thread, is probably again very mixed, as the results are now more homogeneous for everyone that I saw in my matches. People don't get more than 0.5% in Broadly components usually.

I doubt she can have elevated West Asian, because of more northern ancestry, it is very unlikely, especially after that smoothing update, I have seen mixed results and usually there is no any confusion between components, however it was in 5.2

Then she must have some exotic Caucasus-like ancestry from Russia. There's no way to tell what's happening certainly without having the parents tested.

Romanian in theory, with possible Saxon ancestry? Ancestry from Hunedoara, Arad and Caraș-Severin counties. His ancestry profile looks more Hungarian than mine... but I'm not surprised anymore.
