East Anglia has had more outward migration than inward historically and lacks Scots, Welsh & Irish. Good place to start I guess and work out from there.

I have read that at least 25% of English have at least one Irish ancestor, like an Irish grandfather. You have to consider that among the Beatles, for example, only Ringo Starr was 100% "irish free". However, the band was from Liverpool, which is not representative as it received a much higher than average population of Irish immigrants in England

I'd be surprised if that were true. Over 25% having a traceable Irish, Scottish or Welsh ancestor however - probably.

And Ringo Starr had Irish ancestry as well.

I just did a search, and even though starr is described as the "most English in the band" he likely had some deep roots from county mayo

Nevertheless, lenon was too unlucky for an Irish

I wonder if Liverpool has even one native person (not recent immigrant) with 0% Irish ancestry..

How many English and Scottish people have recent Scandinavian ancestry (not Vikings)? How much Scandinavians settled in Britain and where live their descendants?

I lived in northwest England, almost everybody there has Irish and Welsh ancestry. I don't know about the rest of the country but i think tons of modern English of Scottish, Irish, or Welsh heritage partially.

Scousers are like a different ethnicity tbh. Liverpool is very close to the Welsh border in addition to all the Irish immigration. In the recent Scottish DNA study they even identified a new mixed British Isles cluster within England you can see here:

Scotland and Wales also have a heavy dose of recent Irish ancestry. Wales is heavily English, especially in the South.

Danelaw dominated much of the North and East of England. As odd as this might sound, I do notice a slight difference between the White populations of Leicester and Birmingham (I've lived in both cities): the former are a tad blonder and more Germanic-looking than the latter.

I mean immigration during XIXth c. similar to USA, where migrated hundreds of thousands Swedes, Danes and Norwegians.
