Mexico is among most violent countries in the world. Yes Africa apart from war zones like Congo and Somalia is safer than Mexico. Which tells a lot.

Yes, I think that's fair. Marginalised peoples often do gravitate towards organized crime. Look at the disproportionate membership of Burakumin (the "untouchables" of the Japanese caste system) and Koreans in the Japanese Yakuza, for example. On the other hand, the Mayan majority Yucatan peninsula is actually one of the least affected areas by cartel violence. So I don't know if it is that simple.

The economic and social problems in both Mexico and Africa were the result of several historical factors, including influences from countries that nowadays have hegemony in the western economic scenario. If there is no change in the current socioeconomic model, it does not help much. Rich countries will remain rich and the poor will remain poor. The best would be to invest in education and change the current model of development. I am not an expert in Africa or Mexico, but many African countries only serve as the world's breadbasket. The cocoa of the delicious Belgian or Swiss chocolate comes from practically slave labor in Africa and so on.

Mexico. Any chance of Africa being prosperous was gone after Gaddafi died.

Yeah, violence is a big issue, but it's mostly in the northern states. And it is not new, it goes back to the XIX actually, when the americans were exchanging guns for horses with the comanches & apaches, when the americans invaded our country they found out the north was destroyed & devastated by the comanches-apaches raids. Today, dollars have replaced horses.
The whole north has always been a wild west, it's probably the harsh dry conditions. No aztec blood in the north, so it's stupid to claim modern day violence stems from aztecs, lmao.
