Equally important, but I feel closer to my maternal line because I knew my maternal grandparents.

To me both lines are important equally although there are some nuances at least in my case. For example, my relations with my cousins on the paternal line are more serious and formal, but in case of some difficult situations I can expect more help from their side. And with cousins of the maternal line I can have fun and spend a good time, but I have to expect somewhat less serious support from them than from my paternal cousins. It is like we're all in the same army but separate army units are made on paternal divisions.
