Well, I read that French is the most different Latin language of all, and one of the most difficult too, but if we compare it with the German, I suppose at least I can understand some easier words in French.

Do you like languages? I also recommend studying a language other than English.

    I thought you were Palestinian.

I am. I just have Gambian citizenship due to my father's business with his friends there, and there plenty of Arabs that are living in that country as well.

Only in half of Belgium and 1/3 of Switzerland.
German in spoken in Austria and 1/3 of Switzerland, nothing more.

In any case both languages are practically residual to their own countries, with the exception of Austria.

Half of Belgium speaks French, 60% of Switzerland speaks German even though Teutone said they speak a kind of German that is very different from Germany/Austria.
I think that at the international scientific and tecnology level both are very good, but only behind English. There are videogames and programs that come out in Frances and Aleman but not in Español.

French simply because of the massive number of people and swathes of areas globally that speak it either as a primary, secondary or creole language. German is spoken by many in Germany, Austria, Switzerland etc but outside of Europe the number of native speakers is more limited. It depends on in which parts of the world you want to be able to converse

You barely even need German to visit Germany these days

And like other users said, French is a more widespread/spoken language, while German is more localized, so, learn first the former.
