Pretty much the other way.
In Yugoslavia, people identifying as Muslims (Bosniaks) were kinda all intermarrying with Serbs and Croats whereas Albos identifying with ethno weren't mixing that much.

This Western Thracian rejection of being "Greeks with Arab culture" is thus a very secular move.
