Let's just leave aside the fact that there's no scientific census about the existence of a Croatian ethnic group in any period, I will just talk from a genetic point of view since we're on a genetics themed forum, out of all the nations of Balkans Croatians seem to have the least to do with their predecessors whom the country is named after, even less than skopjan have to do with ancient Macedonians! That modern Croatians(and here I exclude the assimilated Pannonian Slavs from northern Croatia and chakavians) are mostly shtokavian Serbs brainwashed by Venetians is not a secret for quite some time now.
I propose that Croatia should change its name to Fyroc(Former Yugoslav Republic of Croatia) at least until this name dispute is solved.
