    You have a slight accent, to my ear. When you say crayon and syrup is where I notice it most. I think it is indeed upper Midwest. For some odd reason, you sound Midwestern-ish but also sorta Boston-like as well. But it's very minor and overall I think that both of us have a pretty neutral, pan-US accent.

    Yeah, I think the CA accent is so generic I took on the traits of my parents' Midwest accent and my grandfather's Massachusetts accent. I noticed this with other Californian's who take on the accent traits of their parents. Regarding your voice, my grandmother was from upstate New York and also had a pleasant, mellow accent like yourself. I was always amazed how different regions of New York state can sound since we have no real variety along the entire west coast, from Seattle to San Diego.

    Oh that's interesting about Cali, there is no doubt I hear those accents in you, subtlety.

    I listened back to my words, it sounds like my dad - except I'm a bit more nasally. He had the same mellow quality, he grew up just outside of NYC.
