I think new world countries and britain and anglo-saxon countries are the countries where it is easiest to adapt to a new identity to become american or british or canadian or australian. It is certainly more difficult in other countries of the old world or non-anglo countries including india. I dont think it is easy to become indian in india. To me you are american.
