These pics show quite a few faces that were/are not found in Romania, like Ladogan.

But these have disappeared from present day Rep of Moldova as well.

Common faces for Central and Northern areas, common for both villages of my parents, lesser for the regions southern of the Capital where can be seen more dark types and more exotism.

These are pictures with my grandparents from both sides (paternal and maternal) from the same time period, they look like people from these pictures.

Mamaliga was my favorite food, I've eaten enough for a lifetime. Grandma Popescu also had great soups and cabbage rolls too. She once threw a cabbage roll at me for making a smart ass comment. Love ya Grand-mama

People had stronger hands too. In this photo of Belarusians from 1930, I think the woman on the right also has a Ladogan-like type, but look at how big her hands are:

Yes, in some pictures he look like Gagarin. But I don't know about any recent Slavic ancestry from his side, I know what from his side my ancestry goes on other side of Prut river in Romanian Moldova, Iași county. From my paternal grandmother I speculate to have some distant Ukrainian ancestry.
